If you have to take a day off immediately, for whatever reason, it's no problem, but please fire off an email to team@atomic8ball.com to keep us aware of of what the circumstance is. We may need to reassign work, etc.
Basically, if you're not available for anybody to get ahold of you to ask you questions or to clarify a point, please let us know. (on a day or timeframe that you'd normally be expected to be around)
We're happy to push a task due date, if necessary, but we need to know ahead of time (before the due date). It's a disservice for our client's if we're not communicating to them that extra time is needed until a day or two after the task should have been completed.
On that note, please go to http://work.a8b.co/Q/settings.aspxand update/confirm your availability time listed in the queue. We would like the time listed here to be a realistic expectation of the time period when you would normally working and available for communication.
Sqwiggle
Sqwiggle received several functionality updates this week, including:
Doesn't prevent computer hibernation if you're the only one in the room
When restoring from hibernation, does not turn camera on until you tell it to
Chat stream is once again hideable
Even if you're the only one around, please hang out in Sqwiggle when you're working. We pay for this service, so please use it.
Besides fostering a good team atmosphere, it gives an indication to us that you're available if something should come up that needs immediate handling. I'm not going to hunt someone down on IM, for example, when someone else is there in Sqwiggle.
