How to update a site to HTML5 (and still validate)
Did you use some HTML5 elements, such as a new form, on an XHTML site, and now you're having validation problems?
First, let's try updating the site to HTML5.
On the master page, change the !DOCTYPE and html tags to be HTML5 style:
<!DOCTYPE html>
and
<html>
If the site is a TAG member, it may have an older version of the press release code, which doesn't validate under HTML5. Upon validation, it will complain that spaces should be represented by %20's. If so, then pull down the newest version of the pr..js file and these will validate in HTML5 too.
